Actor Ted Knight’s former Palisades retreat lists on the market

In Pacific Palisades, a secluded property as soon as owned by actor Ted Knight is up for grabs at $5.495 million.

Knight, who starred within the film “Caddyshack” and the traditional TV collection “The Mary Tyler Moore Present,” purchased the house for $985,000 in 1981. Following his dying in 1986, his widow, Dorothy Knight, offered it for $2.06 million.

Spanning 1.3 acres, the gated retreat is tucked on the finish of a protracted, winding driveway lined with landscaping. Along with a 6,100-square-foot dwelling, the park-like grounds maintain a tennis courtroom, motor courtroom, swimming pool and spa, and an space with heaters for outside entertaining.

Lattice home windows, limestone flooring and glass handrails convey character to the frequent areas, which boast huge gallery partitions splendid for an artwork collector. A dramatic lounge with a skylight and floor-to-ceiling home windows anchors the ground plan. Different highlights embrace a den, formal eating room, wood-covered kitchen and household room with a hearth and moist bar.

A whitewashed, vaulted ceiling with beams provides drama within the second-story main suite; it’s considered one of 5 bedrooms and 6 bogs in two tales. Out again, a trellis-covered patio spans the rear of the house, and meandering paths navigate the verdant grounds.
